Terms of use
The rules for using Nextia Learning: your account, your reviews and feedback, certificates, the course content, and our responsibilities.
Nextia Learning is operated by 14096096 Canada Inc., doing business as Nextia Intelligence.
About these terms
These terms are an agreement between you and 14096096 Canada Inc., doing business as Nextia Intelligence ("Nextia", "we", "us"), for the use of Nextia Learning (learning.nextia-ai.com). When you use the site, you accept these terms. When you create an account, you confirm that you accept them.
The privacy policy explains how we handle your personal information. It is part of these terms.
The service
Nextia Learning gives free courses about AI and software. All courses and certificates are free. There are no payments, plans or paywalls.
We can add, change or remove courses, lessons and features. If we stop the service, we will tell account holders at least 30 days before, so that they can download their data.
Your account
- You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. If you are younger than 14, a parent or tutor must agree first.
- One account is for one person. Use your own name or a name that you choose, but do not pretend to be another person.
- Keep access to your email account and your Google, GitHub or LinkedIn account secure. Anyone with that access can sign in as you.
- You can delete your account at any time, on your profile page.
- If you do not use your account for 3 years, we will email you, and delete it 30 days later if you do not sign in (see the privacy policy).
Acceptable use
Do not:
- try to break into, overload or disturb the site, or get around its limits;
- copy the site with automated tools, other than search engines that obey robots.txt;
- mark lessons or knowledge checks as complete with automated tools, or in any other way that does not show your own work;
- send content that is illegal, hateful, harassing or misleading, or that contains other people’s personal information;
- use reviews or feedback for advertising, spam or links.
If you do not obey these terms, we can remove your content, withdraw your certificates, or suspend or delete your account. We will tell you why, except when the law does not let us.
Your reviews, feedback and answers
What you write stays yours. You give us a free, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to store it, and to use it to run and improve the courses. For reviews, this includes showing them in public with the name that you chose, for as long as you keep them.
The course team reads every review before it becomes public, and can refuse or remove a review that does not obey these terms. We approve honest reviews, positive or negative.
We can use the ideas in your feedback to improve the courses, with no obligation to you.
Certificates
- A certificate of completion shows that you completed every lesson and knowledge check of a course, and one of its case studies when the course has them. Lessons marked optional are not needed. You mark your own knowledge check answers, so it does not show that someone assessed your work. We label every certificate honestly.
- A certificate is not a diploma or an accredited qualification.
- You control the name on it and whether it is public. If you delete your account, your certificates are deleted too, and their links stop working.
- We can withdraw a certificate that was got by breaking these terms.
Course content and code
- Lessons: the text, diagrams, images and videos are ours, or used with permission. You can read them, use them to learn, and share links to them. Do not copy courses to publish or sell them, and do not present them as your own work.
- Code: you can copy, change and use the code examples and notebooks in your own projects, also for commercial projects.
- Datasets and third-party tools keep their own licences. The lessons name them.
Other sites and your own costs
Lessons send you to other sites and tools, such as Google Colab, Kaggle, GitHub, AI model providers and cloud platforms. Their own terms apply, and we are not responsible for them.
Some exercises use services that can charge money, such as a model API or a cloud account. You are responsible for your accounts with these services, for their costs, and for keeping your API keys secret. Check the price of a service before you use it.
Educational nature
The courses teach. They do not guarantee a job, an interview result, a business result, or the success of a project. Technology changes quickly, and a lesson can contain an error or become out of date. If you find one, tell us with the feedback form at the end of the lesson.
You are responsible for what you build, and for obeying the laws and policies that apply to it.
Availability and warranty
The service is free, and we give it "as is". We try to keep it available and correct, but it can be unavailable, and it can contain errors. To the extent that the law allows, we give no other warranty.
Limitation of liability
To the extent that the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, consequential, special or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue or data, from your use of Nextia Learning.
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for bodily or moral injury, for intentional or gross fault, or any right that the law does not let us limit.
Consumers
If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms limits the rights that you have under the Québec Consumer Protection Act, or under other consumer protection laws that cannot be waived. A clause that such a law prohibits does not apply to you.
Governing law and disputes
The laws of the Province of Québec, and the federal laws of Canada that apply there, govern these terms. If you disagree with us, write to us first: we will try to solve it with you. If we cannot, the courts of the judicial district of Montréal have jurisdiction, unless the law gives you the right to go to court where you live.
Language
These terms are published in French and in English. Both versions are equally authoritative.
Changes to these terms
We will publish each change on this page and change the date at the top. If a change is important, we will email account holders at least 30 days before it applies. If you do not accept a change, you can delete your account before it applies.
